As the social media landscape continues to change this year, so will the best times to post across each platform. There are industry standards that are updated annually, and we’re ready to give you the lowdown for optimal posting times for the second half of  2021!

Best Times to Post on Each Platform

On average, the best time to post on Instagram is between 10 AM and 3 PM CDT. However, the level of engagement you get can change dramatically depending on what day of the week you post. Instagram is staying true to itself – lunchtime or after work are still best. This is when most people are online. It also seems that Wednesdays are getting the most engagement right now. A tip to increase engagement on your feed posts is to also direct your followers from Instagram stories!

Facebook is a little different. During work hours is best on this platform. People usually browse Facebook via their desktop, which makes people more likely to sign on during work. According to a Buffer study, the best time to post to Facebook is between 1pm – 3pm during the week and Saturdays. We also found that engagement rates are 18% higher on Thursdays and Fridays.

LinkedIn is for early birds! 10AM – 11AM is the most optimal time to post here. And even though LinkedIn is for professional profiles, Saturdays and Sundays are the best days to post.

The best time to post on Twitter in 2021 is between 11 a.m and 1 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday. While Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. will also see consistent engagement.

According to a bunch of different studies, the most optimal post times on TikTok are 6 am to 10 am and 7 pm to 11 pm, all days of the week. The real key for TikTok is to post multiple times throughout the day everyday.

Using Insights to Find Best Times to Post

While these are the trending times and days according to the industry standard, it is important to note that everyone’s followers are different. Make sure to look at your Instagram and Facebook analytics frequently to find the best optimized times and days to post. Even TikTok has it’s own in-app insights system that will show you the times throughout the week that your videos were most viewed.
